Black SUP3R5 PS5 is discontinued making way for PS5 skins.
The black SUP3R5 PS5 formally sold out on 8 January after it announced its sale on items. SUP3R5 received an immense amount of orders and rose high within a short span. But along the way, they faced many obstacles. However, all sales were cancelled, because the team received "credible threats". It was the last straw for the team. However, you can get top quality all black PS5 skins instead.
"Last night, our team began receiving credible threats to their safety. We take these threats seriously. We aren't willing to risk the safety and well-being of our team, or the potential impact this would bring on your order."
Refunds of black SUP3R5's PS5
It is not sure if angry clients who failed to obtain a console have threatened the supposed attacks and have taken actions to threaten legal proceedings. Some people have claimed not to receive refunds, although that matter is hard to monitor due to several factors. Many YouTube videos and Twitter users had already started saying that the company was running a scam, even before the company had begun processing the orders. Therefore, people started doubting the services of the company. Nothing can be said for sure until official statistics provide some insight.
"All existing orders will be cancelled and fully refunded in the coming days," said SUP3R5. "We intended this to be a fun way to celebrate a shared nostalgia. As it turns out, there are people out there who are willing to interfere with that."
The black PS5 launch was not a smooth ride for the customers. Some customers had trouble with billing and had to pay for pre-orders that were not currently available. Some users reported that they could not erase payment records or collect refunds, and others who used PayPal appeared to have managed to get their money back.
The black PS5 production was limited to just 304 units, and specifications were far higher than expectations: a theme that became common when the stock of PS5 was discovered. The PS5 skin markets ran out of stock, but you can still grab some time-limited decals if you are lucky.
SUP3R5 recently apologised on Twitter for the annoyance that some users faced before all orders were cancelled and then promised to do better in the future. The team has explained that every customer will be getting refunds.
"If you were charged today, but received no confirmation email, your order did not complete," reads the statement. "The payments on orders that have not yet been fulfilled will be reimbursed to you.
You will buy or intend to do so at your own risk if you purchase products from a third-party retailer, whether you have ordered a PS5 or a SUP3R5 DualSense controller. There is always a risk that something will go wrong, mainly if you work with an unverified retailer or if the copyright owner closes down the project.
Sony also shut down a retailer selling personalised PS5 faceplates last year. We help you figure out where to buy the best PS5 skins by searching in all the big stores for all new stock alerts.
